now with my real camera

posting any images to my blog from my little point and shoot canon is not something I normally do, so I wanted to take the “real” pictures of the nursery and post those. I’ve been in my nesting mode, decorating with something new every week. I found this cute dress form when I went to visit my mom in Fresno, I’m using it to display all of the cute little hats I’ve gotten already. This child already has a closet full of adorable clothes and I haven’t even had a baby shower yet. I guess it’s easy to get carried away when it’s your first right? :)

I got so many adorable things at Naartjie. If you have children and have never shopped there before, you’re missing out on some of the most adorable and unique clothes! I got some beautiful things in there. These hats were some of my favorites.

until I can get some adorable pictures of her, I will put her name in her frame for now. :) daddy wants to start her roth ira about 2 minutes after she’s born, so the piggy bank will help her get started. oh how daddy will love talking to her about financial responsibility.

I love my bugaboo frog stroller. An investment to say the least, but well worth the $.

we’ll be putting some plantation shutters over the window to match the rest of the house, it’s just nice and open looking right now without any window treatment, but the shutters will finish it off beautifully.

I had to get a close up of my chandelier. I just love it. Ikea of all places, I loved it more than any I found anywhere else, and for $40 you just couldn’t get any better than that.

This has now become our doggies favorite room in the house. They love to just lay in here all 3 of them together. It’s so cute. I hope Charlie loves our puppies!

I will have some more fun images to post here very soon. A good friend of ours recently had a baby, and I have some newborn shots to do of her on Friday. Can’t wait for those, she’s such a beautiful little girl.

Hope everyone is enjoying superbowl weekend!

Long Overdue Update

Sorry about the boxes guys! I had just recently cleaned up my server. I didn’t realize that in my clean up were all my blogged images! d’oh! kind of a pain, but I have some massive fixing to do and relocating images to fill in the blanks.

So much to catch up on. I have not been a good blogger. I admit. But I have some news, for those of you who don’t know, I’m having a BABY! I’m due May 13th! We are having a little girl. My husband, Kevin, is going to be delivering her at Barton Memorial Hospital here in South Lake Tahoe. I have been working more from home than at my studio since I need to be fairly close to a bathroom still. :) My studio has a bathroom that I have to walk outside to get to, so not the most convenient thing for a pregnant lady to be doing in the middle of winter and ice. We couldn’t be happier about the news. We’ve been married for 7 years and had given up on the idea of us being able to have children, so the fact that we are now pregnant is just a miracle in itself. Lena Hyde, a fabulous photographer in Palm Beach, Florida had given me her lucky Quan Yin, saying it had helped a dozen people have children, so I gave it a whirl and what do you know…..just 6 months later!! Here’s a picture of me with the Quan Yin. Thank you Lena! xoxo we miss you!

We just finished the nursery. It turned out so cute! I will of course getting all her wrinkly pictures on the wall after she’s born. Can’t wait for baby pictures! I already know I’m going to go totally crazy with that.

I’m happy to report, I just got back from a fabulous convention in Phoenix. It was the ImagingUSA conference, in which I got a little love from PPA, winning another AN-NE award for my wedding campaign this year. I got to attend our version of the Golden Globes, 6 months pregnant and all. Lovely :) It was great to be a part of something so big though. I have some pictures from my point and shoot that I must dig up! Kevin managed to snap a few for me.

The main reason for my Phoenix trip though was to teach again this year at the Digital Wedding Forum (DWF) convention. This year it was just outside Phoenix in a town called Carefree. Beautiful place! I wish we had more time to enjoy the beauty of this area. I absolutely love desert landscape. It was even better that Kevin was able to come with me this year. He’s never been to any of the conventions I go to every year, so it was particularly nice that he was able to be there and support me. He even attended both of my classes. What a sweetie! Here’s a little snipit of what I was teaching about this year.
